Job description:
- Ensure projects are completed within scheduled times and compliant with standards and building codes
- Regular inspection and ITPs submission to ensure quality assurance controls procedures are met
- Maintain strong subcontractor and client relationships and oversee day-to-day activities with a strong focus on Workplace Health and Safety
- Implementing WHS procedures that include best practice procedures to complete projects
- Run toolbox meetings, prestart, inductions, site meetings and safety walks
- Providing Technical advice and guidance to subcontractors as required
- Completing weekly management reports
- Working autonomously and closely with the construction team
To be considered you will possess:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience on commercial construction sites with a background in HVAC, mechanical services, or sheet metal working
- Experience with construction projects
- An eye for detail and the ability to clearly communicate
- Ability to work with and manage a team of trades people and sub-contractors
- Possess the ability to work to tight deadlines and liaising closely with builders
- An understanding of successful project completion within established quality, budget and scheduling guidelines
- Form and maintain the storage facilities and manage stock planning so that stock, materials, plant and tools are organised to meet the timescales for the project
- Formulate a material schedule for the project, including take off from issued drawings and specifications, and produce requisitions as far ahead of programme periods as possible to enable best prices to be obtained by the Purchasing Department
- Maintain and track deliveries, ensure that stock and materials are deployed properly, off load/check all deliveries to relevant storage facilities, and manage stock issue, adhering at all times to operational needs and with due regard for health, safety and security.
- Sound computer skills including but not limited to excel and word
- Ability to read and understand drawings
- Understand construction programs
- Foresight and ability to problem solve
